Overview
Wendover Woods is a 325-hectare woodland managed by Forestry England on the edge of the Chilterns escarpment. It’s ideal for family days out, offering a play trail, café, adventure playground, fitness trail, and cycling routes for all abilities. For thrill-seekers, there’s the Go Ape high-wire course (not suitable for those with mobility issues or fear of heights).
The woods are beautiful year-round: spring bluebells, summer picnics, Autumn colours, and crisp winter walks. Wildlife enthusiasts can spot woodland birds like the rare Firecrest and, occasionally, deer. The site also features Boddington hill fort and the highest point in the Chilterns at 267m.
Whether you want a full day of activities or a quick bite in scenic surroundings, Wendover Woods delivers.
